The Central/Southern Illinois Synod Lutheran Youth Organization and Planning Committee feel very strongly that youth are not just the church of tomorrow, but indeed are the church of today. Keeping that in mind we attempt to provide programming for the youth of our synod, offering them many opportunities to come together to grow in faith and strengthen their skills for ministry to help them do the work of Christ in their home congregations and communities. At these events we also try to provide resources and workshops for the adults who work with youth.

Beginning in 2008 the LYO Board and Planning Committee has decided to go with two Synod sponsored youth events. Each event will be a Junior/Senior/Post High event. One will be hosted at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park located at Ina/Sesser, Illinois and the second will be hosted at Lake Williamson Christian Center located at Carlinville , Illinois . Please make note of the new December date. This date replaces the Senior/Post High Event originally hosted in Decatur in November and the Junior High Event which usually took place in May over Mother's Day weekend.
